🔍 Issue
When using the ACT AC7815 KVM Extender, text on the connected display may appear slightly less sharp.
💡 Explanation
If text appears less sharp when using the AC7815, this may be related to how the HDMI signal is transmitted over longer distances. This can have a minor impact on the rendering of fine details such as text.
By enabling ClearType in Windows, text is optimized using subpixel rendering, making characters appear sharper and easier to read.
✅ Solution: Enable ClearType in Windows 10 / 11
Follow the steps below:
1. Search for ClearType
- Click the Start button
- Type: ClearType
- Click on “Adjust ClearType text”
2. Enable ClearType
- Check “Turn on ClearType”
- Click Next
3. Check display settings
- Windows will automatically check the screen resolution
- Click Next
4. Select the clearest text
- You will be shown several text samples
- Select the text that looks the sharpest to you
- Click Next each time
👉 This step is repeated several times and ensures the text is optimized for your display
5. Finish
- Click Finish
🎯 Result
After completing these steps, text will be displayed sharper and more clearly in Windows.
ℹ️ Note
