AC7960 Presenter Button Blinks and Does Not Connect

  • Updated

In some cases, the Presenter Button of the Aero 4K Wireless Presentation System may keep blinking and fail to connect to the receiver.

When the Presenter Button blinks purple or blue, it means that the Button is not receiving a video signal from the device it is connected to.

Solution (Windows):
Press Windows key + P and select ‘Extend’ (extend display). This activates the video signal and allows the connection to be established.

Note:
The Presenter Button only works on devices whose connected USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP-alt). Devices without DP-alt via USB-C cannot transmit a video signal to the Button.

Is there an alternative to Windows key + P on Mac?

On macOS, there is no shortcut like Windows key + P to select the display.

To extend the display on a Mac:

  1. Go to System Settings
  2. Select Displays
  3. Turn off ‘Mirror Displays’

The displays will then be extended and the video signal will be activated.

Tip:
On some Macs, Cmd (⌘) + F1 toggles between mirroring and extending.

Note:
The Presenter Button also only works on Mac if the used USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP-alt).
