AC7093 brief black screen on external display during use

When using the AC7093 as a dock with 1 or 2 monitors connected the video signal is interupted during use giving a balck screen for a short periode of time and this keeps hapening during the use.

This is a known issue for the AC7093 with IIC code 09050213-P0026966 and can be fixed by updating the FW for the AC7093.

Note: This firmware update is strictly compatible with AC7093 with only the following IIC code:

09050213-P0026966

Do not attempt to use this update on a device with a different IIC code. This may cause system instability or permanent damage to your hardware.

✅ What this update fixes (AC7093 video signal lost)

We identified an issue where some AC7093 docking stations temporarily lose the video signal during use, causing screens to go black. This firmware update resolves that incompatibility.

After successful installation, video stability will be improved.

🛠 How to perform the update

Follow these steps carefully:

System requirements:

Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, 11
USB-C port with DP-alt mode support.

FW Update:

First, connect the AC7093 to a USB-C port on your PC or laptop that supports DP-alt mode (do not use a USB hub, as this will disable the DP-alt mode function).
Important! Connect a monitor to an HDMI port (either one) on the AC7093 (if you do not do this, the firmware cannot be executed).
Download AC7093_09050213-P0026966_video_FW_update.zip on a Windows PC/laptop.
Unzip the file.
Open the folder you just unzipped.
Run the FW update program VmmDPTool.exe.
Click on the “Flash” tab.
