Charging your Laptop and powering on the AC7150

The AC7150 will be powered On, via the attached USB-C cable or included USB-A adapter.

The Docking Station has a Power Delivery pass-through port, which supports a maximum of 85W Power Delivery (PD).

Connect your laptop’s USB-C charger (100W max.), onto the PD pass-through port, to charge your laptop via the Docking Station. This will require approximately 5W power, from your Power Supply.

In some cases, your Laptop cannot be charged through the Docking Station, although you connected for example a 45W PSU, which is perfectly required by your Laptop.

In some cases, you need a PSU which is able to provide an additional 5W extra power, to be able to charge your Laptop.

Therefore, connecting a USB-C charger of 65W, would solve this problem, due to sufficient power is being supplied.

This will not harm your Laptop in any way. After all, you are able to connect a USB-C charger up to max. 100W.

Limitations, in case the Docking Station is connected by the means of a USB-A port, instead of a USB-C port

The AC7150 can also be used with a USB-A port, by making use of the supplied USB-C (F) to USB-A adapter (M).

It is still possible to connect 2 monitors onto the Docking Station, and use most of the other features; except charging your Laptop.

Opposed to a USB-C connection, USB-A has a lower data transfer rate.

Please note! When using the Docking Station with a USB-A connection onto the Laptop, the Power Delivery passthrough (PD) feature is disabled.

In that case, the Laptop will require its own power supply to be connected.

Power OFF/ON the AC7150 Docking Station

The AC7150 will be powered ON automatically, as soon it is connected onto a source device. Either by USB-C or by USB-A port.

When disconnecting the Docking Station from the source device, the AC7150 will be powered OFF.

If needed, you are able to power down the AC7150, while it is still connected by its cable.

Press one time on the Power button to power the device down, and one time to Power the device ON again.

Enabling “Screen Recording” permission MacOS

To make the external connected monitors work on your MacOS the option “Screen Recording” permission must be enabled on your MacOS Operating System.

Follow the link below, on how to enable “Screen Recording” permission in MacOS.

K-Lock (Kensington lock) option

For the AC7150 is an optional K-Lock (Kensington lock) present, in order to secure the Docking Station onto a stationary object like a Desk/table.

You will need a K-Slot Security Cable Lock, to make use of this option. The security cable is not included with the AC7150 Docking Station!
