AC7048 Installing drivers and connecting devices onto the Docking Station

Installing drivers

Caution! Install the DisplayLink® drivers for your Windows or Mac OS operating system first, prior to connecting the AC7048 onto your Laptop/PC.

Through the link below, you’ll find the most recent DisplayLink® driver version for Windows and MacOS.

When the installation of the drivers has been successfully completed; reboot your Laptop/PC.

 

Connecting Display Monitors

Connect either 2x DP (Display Port) monitors or 3x HDMI monitors (when the USB-C port of your Laptop/PC is being used).

Connecting the PSU and Docking Station onto Laptop/PC

Connect the included PSU (135W) onto the Docking Station and connect the included USB-C connection cable, onto the device connection port (marked with a symbol) present on the Docking Station.

Connect the other end of the USB-C cable onto your PC/Laptop, either by the USB-C connector or with the USB-A adapter.

Charging your Laptop by the means of the included USB-A adapter, is not possible.

 

So, the AC7048 can also be used with USB-A laptops via the supplied USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Please note! When using the Docking Station with an USB-A laptop, the Power Delivery (PD) passthrough function is disabled.

In this case, the laptop requires an additional power supply and additionally, USB-A only supports connecting up to, two screens.

Enabling “Screen Recording” permission MacOS

To make the external connected monitors work on your MacOS the option “Screen Recording” permission must be enabled on your MacOS Operating System.

The notification "DisplayLink Manager, would like to record this computer's screen" is applicable for MacOS 10.15 version or higher.

 

K-Lock (Kensington lock) option

For the AC7048 is an optional K-Lock (Kensington lock) present, in order to secure the Docking Sation onto a stationary object like a Desk/table.

You will need a K-Slot Security Cable Lock, to make use of this option. The security cable is not included with the AC7048 Docking Station!
